Packing an accurate product target weight into a punnet is time-consuming and hence unproductive. The Vizier Easy Punnet assists in arriving at the target weight in a punnet or carton accurately and quickly with minimum handling at a rate of up to 6 seconds per punnet. It can be used in punnet or carton configurations. Programmable parameters are:
- Target pack weight
- Step or Tolerance (target weight < acceptable weight < (target weight + tolerance)
- Offset or minimum bunch weight for the controller
Punnet packing
Half-filled punnets are weighed on a slave controller and placed in one of eight channels indicated by a lamp on the packing plate. Individual grape bunches are weighed on the master controller. The weighed bunch is combined with a half-filled punnet from the packing plate channel to arrive at the correct punnet weight.
Carton packing
Individual grape bunches are weighed on a slave controller and placed in a channel indicated by a lamp on the packing plate. Packed cartons are weighed on the master controller, which will indicate if the packed carton is over- or under-weight and which bunch from the packing plate should be used to arrive at the correct carton weight.
As with all Vizier systems, the Easy Punnet will work as per specification if maintenance and support guidelines are met. The weighing function will exhibit the scale’s accuracy, typically 1 gram standard deviation.
